Hiring a Technical Artist - Contract - Fully remote or London Based

    Introduction & Summary

    I work for Nexus Studios in the internal recruitment team, we are doing the most incredible things in the immersive world but it is not stopping there. We’re performing some exciting R&D around custom animation tools and real-time rendering techniques within Unity to assist a key player in the streaming space on creating 3 of their potential upcoming animated shows. Our bespoke Unity tools will be used to create 3 ‘proof of concept’ tests - 1 scene from each show.

    Available Positions and Job Descriptions

    We are looking for a talented Technical Artist / Animation Programmer to join the team as a contractor who can help further develop these tools around the real-time, motion capture and digital puppeteering pipelines, as well as work with artists and directors to help introduce them to real-time workflows. We’re performing some exciting R&D around custom animation tools and real-time rendering techniques within Unity to assist a key player in the streaming space on creating 3 of their potential upcoming animated shows.
    • Produce motion constraint code that can be translated to, or reused by, different applications so there is numeric interoperability of systems across applications.
    • Create geometry deformers and motion constraints to achieve specific artistic outcomes.
    • Make procedural motion code that synthesises specific types of motion.
    • Produce character animation controllers that can be executed cleanly from code.
    • Contribute to discussions of the technical delivery process, and internal tooling of the wider studio.
    What We Are Looking For
    • Unity3D and/or programming for 3D DCCs like Maya, Max, Houdini
    • C# and/or python
    • Animation programming (interpolation, motion constraints, deformation)
