High Polys on blender

    Im modelling a Scar H for my game but heres the thing i only model the grip,trigger,magazine and half the body but when i check my polys it reaches 55.000 so is there something wrong
    Tools I used:
    -Subdivision Surface
    -Subdivide
    -Edge Split
    -Bevel
    -loop Cut
    P.S i did the same way with my last gun M1911 Colt and it ony has 11.000 polys

    Subdivision Surface and Subdivide methods are actually smoothing mesh, which means it's adding more polygon's to mesh itself. Try lovering subdivision surface levels before you apply that modifier.

    Also you can try using Decimate modifier to reduce polygons, but as i can see you are beginner and i suggest you to watch some tutorials and read some articles about modeling game assets.

    Decimate modifier? well im kinda new to blender but can you tell me how it works?
    and also ho many polygons is good for a game is it 50.000 - 100.000 or what?
