Looks great. Good thing is that it could be used for fantasy or as a Sci Fi alien bug.

thats exactly what i thought, this kind of models are so much valuable because you can use them in medieval/scifi game or even a cooking game!
whish you could make more models of this kind

Glad most of you guys appreciate this particular interpretation of the Kraken. I agree, indeed, this creature could be used in a Sci FI project. I have been considering creating some more weird-ish monsters... but this would be for some other pack.
Regarding some technical specifications about that model. Geometry is around 23 Kris total : 14 Kris for the body and 1.4 Kris for each tentacle. Tentacles are separate objects that will allow developer to play with some physics and make them fall. Just need to unlink the root bone of the tentacle. A prefab will be, set up with all the collides and rigid bodies.

Hope you guys will like this creation once finished.

    Cheers

I think the only problem is the size of the head/tentacles. Is it possible to separate the head in animation, so we could resize it whole (alone with the tentacles, maybe tentacles be also resizable each one separatly) ?

Otherwise looks very cool. Just not as intimidating as the Kraken name would suggest, my guess is that the head/tentacle size/scale could easilly address that

I don't see anywhere in the wikipedia page a reference to the Kraken being a giant crustacean. Almost all references point to a giant octopus or squid.

I know artist have their own visions but this is far from being a kraken.

I think this is the problem with perception and reallity :). Most movies and storys see a kraken as a giant octopus. To be honest, that was what I expected too, and I think that is what most of the people think regardles what the mythology states.

But anyhow. your models are great and I enjoy them. But if I would intigrate your kraken version in my game, I wouldn't call it a kraken due to the perception of the player. Keep up the good work.

P.S. : This is what Google Picture search gives me: Link

I will be using this with the head coming of out water, scaled like 10 times my hero size :)

Will be epic i think, maybe show a bit of the body too

I think it looks good but as others said not like a kraken but more like a lobster. Maybe just rename it to sea monster or something like that. Just my personal feel of course. The modeling however is well done. ;)

Wow some people are very hard to please here.
Think it looks great and can't wait to see it animated and textured.
If you all don't like it then either don't purchase it or be glad you have a really cool monster to rename/use as you see fit.
Keep up the fantastic work rosor!

Yeah, seriously ... this is a fantastic model and perfectly fine for a kraken. It's also very close to the concept art posted ages ago so if you didn't like it ... why not chime in earlier?

Anyway, this is looking great. What colour scheme are you planning for the textures?

Nobody says, that the model is not good. I like it very much, like everybody else. It is just about the perception what a kraken is. Every artist is interpreting it in a different way, which is good, but if you go out and ask people on the street what a kraken is, 95% will come up with a giant octopus. Thats all. ;)

Indeed, the model is amazing as always, no doubt about that

Plus i can see using it as the giant Kraken by scaling and exposing the head first, like an island with tentacles.

Wow. Guys, haha. As mentioned in the first post a self interpretation of the Kraken would be done. I also added a concept ages ago. I also thought it was just a giant octopus until I did some quick research that gave me more freedom. The model is already pretty big. Just using the head sticking out of the water will give some decent result. The main concern wad for game play and animations. Will try my best to fit most of needs.

Indeed, i am sure will be great and above all unique comparing to most other interpretations

I am sure with your animation magic can look stunning if exposed little by little under water

Customers who purchased the pack from Unity Asset Store make sure you have the latest version (v1.1 / 954 Mb) including the Kraken.

Gorgon and Kraken are in the game, unbelievable work as always.

I cant describe how cool both these models are :), the Kraken mouth/tentacles and Gorgon snake hair has to be seen to be believed.

The pack is now officially at god like status

@nasos_333 : thanks for the nice compliments! Always encouraging to have comments like these!
Dwarf is in the pipe by the way. It might take a little bit longer than usual to release this character since it'll require some customization items an stuff. Base dwarf model is already created, currently on the equipment: helmets, shoulder pads, forearms armor, belly armor and weapons...

Little update for the week end. :)

All models are now modeled and unwrapped. Dwarf base mesh is now rigged and skinned. 12 helmets variations available, 6 weapons types (4 one handed and 2 two handed), 7 beards, 8 haircuts. a body armor with shoulder pads, forearms armor and finally an armored robe. Will also have some textures variations. Developer will be able to handle a nice non uniform dwarfs horde with this asset.
    here is a WIP render.

Hope you guys will like the current state of this model pack.
    Cheers, :)

He looks like a little tough guy. Really cool. Can't wait to see him all textured. Oh don't forget the mead mug! Dwarfs love their mead.

I feel bad paying only 125$ for this pack TBH, this is a 1000$+ value easilly. The new modular aspect also brings it to a whole new level.

I might add a throw hatchet animation and create a side hatchet for that purpose.

Value of the packs if models purchased separately should be around $750 / $800. For sure those who pre ordered got a good bargain. I might have to raise the price of the pack for this release due to the modular aspect of this asset. Dwarf alone should be sold at around $50.

Throwing axe / hatchet animations work. Others that would be great would be a "drink ale" animation, a "shield bash" attack and perhaps war shout animation. I'm really looking forward to this one. I've been waiting for a good dwarf pack and this is definitely looking very promising.

You should certainly increase the price. The deal at the moment is such good value.

Sweet ... can go from everything from a commoner through to berserker through to dwarf lord. Amazing. Any chance of doing a spiky orange hair option for a full on dwarf berserker look?

Sorry if I've been misleading here... the armored robe I'm talking about is the outfit that is under the belly/ shoulder pads armor. Currently it has two skins (chain mail and padded leather with 3 tint variations) and I'm talking about adding a third skin, metal plates.

Not suggesting it for this pack but you should consider in the future doing a few more dwarfs such as a missile and wizard variety. I'm sure those would be good sellers. I'd definitely buy them.

suggestions are always welcome. However it's another story to implement them... Again sorry for what's been said before... my bad the last skin for the robe armor will be scales armor... not plates...
