I am ready to ice it, just finished with partial mesh emission with texture mask and bought an ice pack to apply to the crab with it. I managed to get the spikes follow the surface normals too, so i cant wait to see the effect :)

Will use this variant for my snow areas

Of course i will make crabs for more areas :) adding different particles on top each time

For the caves i will probably keep the original model

I have worked with the crab and the result is so amazing that i have to give praise once more, really stunning work :)

The dragon is also fantastic, the flying animation is so spectacular

BTW, do some older models use uv set for uvs ?

I tried to grab the .uv1 from the Ogre and failed, while .uv works ok

hi there! thanks for your kind words. Well a unicorn usually don't have wings. Are you looking for something more like pegazus? the hippogriff will be something that would look a little bit like that ( see description ).

    Well, that could work indeed.
I could delete some polygons off the hippogriff so as to just have its wings and place it over the Unicorn

I just need a flying type animation anyhow, so I'll try and do that and then use a still of the unicorn in jump motion, to show it flying.
Or something along those lines

I'm definitely gonna be getting this pack, since I mist the first one.

    Could I make a request perchance ?

Since I read you were working on the Lacodon,
could you make the Hippogriff and Unicorn after that one?
Since those do have similar attributes anyhow ^_^

Thank you very much for the excellent assets.

Little update regarding Lacodon: creature is now modeled, textured, rigged and skinned. it'll go in animation step soon. Sorry about the delay but some freelance job needed to be done. here is a render of the creature ( with its head's scales closed)

Hope you guys will like it! :)

Fantastic .... looks really nice. I love the strange fore arms with the hole in the upper arm. Looks positively demonic. If you're adding anything to it at all, I'd suggest some sort of spines along its back as the back is a bit bland at the moment.

yes, its head's scales will spread open to show it's face. Funny, I was considering adding some kinda spikes along the back too.

Brilliant ... looks fantastic. Will the hammer be a separate mesh so we could replace it with some other weapons?

Hammer, clothe and shoulder pad will be separate game objects. You'll be able to show hide whatever you like or replace the weapon with another as long as you parent it to the right bone.

Minotaur Add-On is now live on Asset Store. Those who purchased from the Unity Asset Store, make sure to check if you have V1.05. this last one includes the Minotaur.
    Cheers :)

Next Add-On will be a nice Gargoyle. this model will have static variations for posing the creatures on pedestal etc... a stone / statue texture, a variation with illuminated cracks and the texture for the alive / awaken version.
    Cheers :)

Is it possible to have at least one lod? Some models are very high poly for monsters

Not sure if this will happen. Models are destined for PC / MAC / console not for mobile. Tris count is pretty average / low for actual generation computers. Do you create content for mobiles?.

Yes, some of your models are less than 5k it work well, but over 10 k its pretty high and not easy to integrate on mobile project

Would be an interesting idea to have a lower and maybe a higher model along with the main one that balances polys for good performance on mid range.

For example i could do with a few more polygons in the minotaur legs :)

Ok so the problem is that It's absolutely not only a matter of polycount but a combination of texture count and resolution, and the most important number of bones in the rig... doing a LOD with just less tris for a mobile character wouldn't be enough. The number of bones would also need to be optimized... here it would mean to totally rethink some characters in order to have them 100% mobile ready... the first creatures pack never targeted mobile devices and so does the second volume. Will see what's possible...

It'd be worth looking into mobile friendly assets I think ;) Lots of developers use Unity for Mobile games.
But either way I'm a happy customer, plus Moore's Law will sort it out eventually :p

Focus on what you're doing now ... I would hate to sacrifice the quality of the work to accommodate mobile releases. I always use Cruncher to reduce triangles and texture sizes anyway.
