Help with simple animation issue.

Hi, im Chris. Im experiencing a very weird but simple problem. I cant find a tutorial or anything on the web or anyone else having the same issue. I have a 3D model that I have animated through mecanim. everything is fine except when he walks the walking animation only works when going forward. when you try to walk any other direction he still moves but no animation is being played. I've tried to make a script that allows an animation to play during input but it just didn't work. Although it worked on other models.... and when I sprint the animation works in all directions like it should :/ so im really stumped. can anyone point me in the right direction?

 

Do you have the transitions set for direction -.1 and .1 respectively? I had the same problem when I started using mecanim.

 

Wow , I figured it was simple but not that simple haha thank you very much. I found a work around but at the same time ive ran into other issues. So im off to recruit a programmer for my team. again ,thanks a ton.

 

Mecanim is a pain to get started with, but once you get it... Pretty much everything is cake.
