[help] rotary/wheel joystick?

I'm making a game with the onscreen joysticks.but im nit such a fan of how they are now.
I want to have joysticks like in those racing games and dungeon defenders.
Instead of pushing the nob,you rotate the nob.


I have no lead on how to do this,any sugestions
