    "For my thesis"

I don't mean to sound rude but surely this should involve some experimentation and research beyond searching the Internet for an existing solution. Perhaps start by creating a hello world app and move on from there. Supplement your knowledge by enrolling in a short Unity "how to" course.

Agreed. You should search all the information you need. That is part of doing your thesis. Why should we do that for you?
Seems like a very easy thesis to me. Too easy almost.

Though still to help you a little bit to get going...
    - You need the active scene.
    - Get the root game objects of that active scene
    - Then cycle through all their children transforms
With that you can create a list that represents the hierarchy.

Why are you writing a thesis for a subject you have no knowledge of? I'll confess I've never written one but from everything I know about it it's typically a subject that aligns with your chosen degree and it's typically started a couple of years into the degree.

It's also intended to be a project that is anywhere from months to a year or more. What you're describing shouldn't take more than a day if you've been properly learning game development. It sounds much more like homework than a thesis.

Regardless of that though reach out to your professor and ask them for advice. A thesis is supposed to show your research and critical thinking skills. You're not supposed to just be pointed to a source that will show step-by-step how to do it for you.
