Help on visual Special Effects (programs, tools, tutorials...)

Hello guys, thanks for reading. I'm new and I'm looking for a way to create and animate special effects 2D, I mean, explosions, dust after a landing, sword dashes, lightning, fire, blood effects... All that stuff. I thought I could do it on flash and export it to Unity, but that doesn't seem to be an option.

So, How do you guys do it, with an external program? is there a tool inside Unity? Do you know if there are any tutorials out there? (all I have found are 3D or flash tutorials :S)

You need to look a little harder and do some reading. A lot of answers to your questions can be found right here on the forum.
