I just heard the news about Unity5 doing away with the removal of core features to help game developers, such as full access to dynamic navmesh baking and such, (the full fleet of features for the MoCap skeleton builder?) and other such features which are nice. And it does say it removes access to:

    1. Team Features, whatever that means.

    2. Priority Bug Handling, which means priority of reading and getting to bug reports from pro licensees before free. I guess that is fine, Pro people are probably reporting more serious issues working on just-below AAA budgets. I can see it as cutting down costs and time when sifting through bug reports.

    3. Unity Cloud Pro, useless to me but its probably great for teams and those who travel or have an office and need to coordinate their own source/builds from work.

    4. Some kind of spy service.... *cough* But hey if its used RESPONSIBLY..... But regardless its already in your personal edition games as stated in the EULA so nevermind about that...

    5. Game Performance Reporting, its like the spy service.... But useful for team coordination on issues for your games I assume.

"Capture your game's exceptions during development & after launch. Monitor your reports on the web." Wonder who else is monitoring it... Just your fellow team mates. Anyway its not your assets.

    6. Beta Access, makes sense, and I understand it.

    7. Asset Store Level 11-- No idea what the heck / hell this is? Someone want to explain this to me?

    8. Specialized Spam Filter for the forums.

    9. The Options to get access with terms and possibly another license, from Unity for their Source code of Unity.

And I think this is all somewhat reasonable, I mean I understand the way the world is headed so I may disagree with some things but some things just make sense. And I am aware of the changes made due to the changing times.

But one thing I don't understand is why it's OK to sell me a piece of code on the asset market place and expect me to pay for the same damn thing because suddenly I told myself "Welp I've been working so hard and now I feel I need UnityPro and lemme give these mofo brofos their cut and buy that pro license #tossdah1500dollahhollah"

So suddenly I'm going to need to -- heaven forbid -- pay an additional ... $2,000.00? $500? $120? 50$? $50,000.00? just to own the same crap but with a Unity5 Pro title slabbed onto it? What gives? Are they discounted when I have to buy them a second time? Am I just stupid here? Did I just brainfart and not understand how things should operate in a sensible business?

It's like upgrading the core of your car's engine and suddenly because you went GT or something the mechanic said "Hey you gotta buy a new dashboard.. its just like the old one, and new seats, they'll be exactly the same. Basically you gotta rebuy this whole car's extra features that you may find necessary. But the brakes and the gas pedals can stay..." Yeah I know this is a stupid analogy but I am seriously just wanting to know everyones thoughts on this matter it seems a bit extreme. And also not being able to take your game made in the personal edition, NOW, more than ever before is illogical. I mean why is there a separation? Shouldn't you just tag all compiled products made with Unity Personal Edition with some UnityProject.unitygame.pe that can be opened with Unity PE and Unity PRO but once saved in Unity Pro you get your UnityProject.unitygame.po which cant be opened again in PE but only in PRO for life?

Well I await anyone's response, I just wanted to understand the logic behind all of this. Someone may enlighten me and I will appreciate the effort in doing so.

Nothing has been removed. You better read your sources generally a lot better since it looks you read few words randomly from different places and assume the rest...

All of the points are have own detail in the web pages/forum section or existing thread.

I made the parts I just "mentioned" smaller as they were just something I wanted to shed some light on as what wasn't included in this new version of Unity that had removed basically all the core functionality of Unity Pro (back in Unity 4) and are now present in Unity 5, which was to say "I am happy they did this, but whats with the marketplace and this separation of assets, why do I need to buy things twice just to develop? Why should I be punished for deciding to go Pro?"

And I was making this thread to find some enlightenment on this and why I am wrong.

You still have access to the Asset Store. The Level 11 stuff is just monthly discounts including a monthly free asset. This month its PlayMaker.

I have no idea what you're talking about when you say "buying things twice".

There is no separation of assets, Level 11 is like Playstation Plus (but you keep your stuff after the subscription ending)

Was that what you meant? Your post is incredibly hard to understand.

I read this from the license:

    "
You May Not Use Unity Personal with Unity Pro or any Unity Pro Add-On Products
You may not combine or integrate Licensee Content that you develop with Unity Personal simultaneously with any Licensee Content that you develop with Unity Pro or any Unity Pro Add-On Products. Licensee Content developed with Unity Personal will be tagged with an identifier that is used to enforce this restriction."

And then I see things like this on the market place:

    https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/1714
    saying Pro version

    and
    https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/1725

    saying Basic.

And I am searching for one that was priced the same but had two different versions.

Ah ok. That part of the license only applies to things you (and your team) create. If you buy anything from a contractor or from the Asset Store it doesn't matter if they had Pro or Personal

Oh Now I feel silly, thank you. I had no idea and was confused as I kept reading Pro and Non-Pro from the asset market and didn't want to get in trouble for buying something while using something---

Errr, what I mean by all of this is I thought the Assets were separated by Unity Version and you must buy the right asset for the right version (license) of Unity or it does not work. Like for scripts.

I'll make sure to inform my bros about this.

It's not added yet, but soon Pro users will be able to filter out Personal Edition users.

I think it is only filtering out threads started by non-Pro users.
