Hello everyone, long been tormented by the question of how to integrate and even implement such attacks, interference in the space of the player and the interaction between the enemy and the game, can eat what assets, help with this issue
Are you an animator or are you planning on making stuff like this with things from the asset store? These attacks are really just little cut-scenes made carefully in the 3d software. The camera position, enemy, and player are all animated there and the game positions the 3 components via some kind of blend and then plays the clip. Note: FPS games often use different field-of-view settings to render the weapon from the players point of view to prevent too much foreshortening, and this of course cant be used if you're going to have the player's body interact with surroundings.
If there is a useful asset advise, in general I animate in the program motionbuilder, the question is, I need to animate two characters in this program so that then the interaction between the enemy's body and the player was right and then it's like to adjust it in unity?
I havent actually done this kind of animation myself. You will need to have both characters in the animation program (motion builder) at the same time to make this work, + a way to know where the camera is.
You will have to export them the usual way-- "Export Selected" so only the bones from one character export to each character. I'm not sure what will happen if you export both characters... it'd probably work fine if they have unique bone names.
