    Sky Master ULTIMATE HDRP- Fog of War system




    Sky Master ULTIMATE URP - Fog of War system


    Sky Master ULTIMATE URP Beta 24 WIP - Added new Fog of War system, integrated in the Fully volumetric clouds with fly through, the system reveals the ground below the clouds and restores the clouds as the player moves away to hide the region again emulating player visibility.

    The system was implemented already in Sky Master ULTIMATE HDRP clouds (videos above) and is now ported to URP as well. The module is fully configurable for the radius of the effect and other variables affecting its functionality.

    This feature, along with the round planet clouds, scene objects shadows on clouds, lightning module and vortex module conclude the planned features of the Sky Master ULTIMATE URP clouds. Extra features will be considered as well after Beta 24 release, based on user suggestions for further additions.

    Sky Master ULTIMATE new Biomes system that will smoothly transition the sky - weather - fog - water - lighting and many more properties from one area to another automatically. The system is now also working on Sky Master ULTIMATE URP Beta, additionally to the Sky Master ULTIMATE Standard Pipeline and a HDRP version is also in the works.

    Sky Master ULTIMATE new planetary volumetric clouds wip on map reset and cloud shift systems.

    The new system brings the whole world so that the camera is at map zero, after a defined distance & shift of clouds to other planets. This module will be combined with the biomes system to apply different properties to each planet clouds.

    Sky Master ULTIMATE URP Beta 24 work in progress.

    -
    Added fix for the case where the planet is not centered in map zero, so that the planetary self shadowing will appear correctly. This helps when the new planetary map reset and cloud transport to other planet Biomes systems are used.

    - Added fix for the dual cloud layers when the player is above the 2ond layer, top clouds would not be rendered when overlap with the lower layer.

    Hi, the biomes are already also in standard pipeline, i post a video above from that version.

    Note this is also wip, so there has been a lot of additions in latest versions after this video. Will post a new video asap as well.

    Hi, i would definitely recommend the URP version at this point, the clouds are more advanced state, with map reset, vortex system, fog of war system, screen space shadows, full atmospheric effects and sun shafts, full shadow casting to both clouds and shafts from scene objects and much more that are not in the Standard Pipeline. The Ethereal volumetric lighting system is also more advanced and controllable than the volumetric lights in the Standard Pipeline

    Also the URP version combines with Oceanis URP for advanced water and underwater rendering and ORION for planetary water and with GIBLION for artistic effects, so this opens up much more possibilities.

    Sky Master ULTIMATE Major usability update WIP - Coming soon in Standard Pipeline v5.3.0 and URP Beta24d.

    The new system will allow instantiation of auto configurable prefabs covering most uses of the system. The presets cover mobile, high end mobile with shader clouds, shader clouds for desktop, background clouds for desktop and fly through clouds for desktop plus biome controller and planetary clouds.

    Also the system auto configurator on a scene camera is now finalized for both Standard and URP Pipelines, which is the base of the above prefab management system. The prefab manager will also be a global controller with access to the most common parameters and ability to move to the relevant scripts for more advanced setup when needed.

    ISSUE REPORT 1
    - Sky Master ULTIMATE URP Beta24d (may apply to current Beta 24c as well):

    It just came to my attention that the reflection script in URP version in combination with the clouds can create an issue where a scene saved with this system will hang Unity (in my case could not close the Unity process as well and had to restart the PC). I discovered that the issue was the camera rotation be at 0,0,0. This has been known to create various warnings in various cases. In the new Auto Configuration prefab I make sure the camera get a tiny rotation so is not in 0,0,0. This resolves the load scene issue. Also this issues does not affect the build, only when loading a scene in the editor. Tested in Unity 2021.3.6f1.


    ISSUE REPORT 2 - Sky Master ULTIMATE Standard Pipeline VR

    One note on Sky Master ULTIMATE VR mode in Standard Pipeline (Multipass), i noticed that when the "Frustum Jitter" script is enabled on the camera, the VR eyes are not in sync,
    so when using the system in VR mode this script should be deactivated, the clouds are still receiving the temporal AA internally and this option is not required for the cloud temporal AA denoising.

    The fix will come in v5.4.1 of Sky Master ULTIMATE.

    - Changed LIGHTING_COORDS to UNITY_LIGHTING_COORDS in shader based cloud shader, to make compatible with later Unity 2021.3 LTS versions. Fix is applied to all pipeline versions.
    - Added new VR demo with a fix for Unity 2021.3 LTS by removing the Frustum Jitter script in Temporal AA, the clouds use integrated Temporal so the camera jitter is not a requirement.
    - Fix the lagging of particles when the Particle Stabilizer module is used, on camera roll.

    - Added the option to instantiate the auto configurable on camera prefabs during run time and reuse the auto configuration script to do the setup on a different scene camera at play mode.
    - In order for the prefab auto configuration system to work in runtime, some assets must go into a Resources folder, as shown in the images in the store page of the asset in version notes, this must be done if Sky Master is already installed in the project since assets will be outside that folder. For new installation this step is not needed.

    - Refined the v5.3a prefab clouds for a better initial setup artistic look.
    - Added dithering technique to eliminate the skybox banding when certain sky colors are used

    Multiple more refinements, controllers, prefabs and demos have also been added to the Sky Master ULTIMATE URP Beta v25, which will be the next big release of the URP version.

    Demo scenes combining the Sky Master ULTIMATE URP Planet clouds with ORION water and planets.

    The users of both systems can now access a combined demo, using the Sky Master ULTIMATE URP Planetary clouds, with the ORION Planetary water system. More integration demos are also in the works for next versions and planned to release in the next ORION and Sky Master ULTIMATE URP Beta 25 versions.
