Bug HDRP Decal is broken

The Decal persists on the screen after switching decal materials and moving it.

I can confirm this bug.
Already mentioned here:

This bug is still there after months. Seems the lighting department is totally unaware of this bug or never tested to switch materials on decal projectors.

 

Please check if the issue also occurs with the latest HDRP/Unity release. If the issue persists and can be reproduced, please submit a bug-report as described in this document:
https://unity3d.com/unity/qa/bug-reporting

It's important that you report these issues together with a reproduction project if you want them to get fixed. If you don't do it, it might be a long time until someone else reports them or until Unity Technologies find them.

After you submitted the bug-report, you receive a confirmation email with a bug-report Case number. Please post the Case number (number only, not the link) in this forum thread for Unity staff to pick up.

The project in the following screenshot is attached to the bug report.

 

It turns out that Unity already knows about this bug, so I wasted my time to create an example project for them and submit a deatiled bug report ...
