Has Plastic deteriorated in the last 2 years?

I used Plastic in 2019 and now again in 2021.

In the meantime, it seems like the UX is much worse:

    • *every* new asset I add is being defaulted to Private
    • I can't undo the addition of newly added assets, because they are private
    • When I add an asset to source control, then undo in the pending changes, instead of deleting the asset from the source control - it reverts it back to private!
    • The only way to delete a new added file is to manually delete it - what is the point of version control?
    • There is *still* no Windows UI prompt when a new changeset has been launched

Am I alone with this poor experience?

And as soon as you check the checkbox they are added.
Yeah, instead you need to select and delete them.
It's not "manually" exactly, you can delete them from inside PlasticSCM.

    Hi @Rich_A,

Thanks for your feedback. I am sorry to hear this. I would like to get a little more details on your experience.
    • Are you using the Windows Developer GUI, the Gluon GUI, the version control integration in Unity (via Project Settings) or the Plastic SCM for Unity plugin right now?
    • Which of these were you using in 2019 during your previous experience?
    • Are you working with a Unity project right now? And were you working with a Unity project in 2019 as well?

I feel like Plastic slowly adds good features over time. We've been using Gluon and the regular standalone Plastic SCM GUI for several years at my studio and it's always been the best option for us.

The only thing I noticed is a couple more bugs, e.g. error popups with cryptic messages or some operations failing in the GUI, but working on the commandline. Nothing major, but a few oversights I guess.
