HI My son has drawn a layout of a map he wants me to create, how can I use this inside unity as a painting reference for his path, road, river layout etc?

    TIA

could import image into unity project,
create 3d plane in scene (hierarchy),
drag n drop the image into that plane:

But it will be flat.. so you'd have to roughly place terrain over it..
(could move the plane above terrain ground, make it semi transparent from material settings)

then could also create that mesh in blender/3ds max,
deforming mesh there would be easier (if want to show shapes for mountains, rivers)
and assign your texture to it, export to unity as fbx. (if texture is embedded, it should follow along, or assign in unity)

    other unity alternative,
if you are using URP, can project textures like this:
    https://docs.unity3d.com/Packages/c...ersal@12.1/manual/renderer-feature-decal.html
(so could try projecting the image into terrain)
