I decided to pull down the the skull pack and I won't be submitting the embankment pack or any others for the foreseeable future. Too much time and too little interest to be worth it. I've switched entirely to a VR project which will likely take 2 to 3 years to complete so that would be the soonest I'd be able to try again. I come out of film and it's really more my comfort zone and VR is exploding right now so it makes more sense. I had fun with the game models but I have to focus on paying work. I may take a shot at VR games down the road but even that is years off.

Good luck to everyone. I love Unity but for now I need to focus on film.

Too bad. That skull pack was very cool! You didn't leave it up very long though, sadly.

No one seemed interested and I don't have the time to support it. I didn't want to leave it up if I didn't have time to deal with any technical problems people had. Even listing it for free I figured would come back to bite me. Sad because I put a lot of time into it and the follow up pack but I can't afford anymore time at this point. Game modeling was kind of a sink or swim deal and it sank like a rock. Took too long to get the things posted and approved. I had a window to see what I could do with it but by the time I got the first pack approved I only had two weeks left and with no sales I had to admit it was a flop. Maybe things would have gone differently if I got a pack or two posted back in August like I originally planned but there were too many problems to work out and the first time I submitted it there were problems so it took nearly a month to get it accepted. I had the system down by then but the clock ran out. I may try again but it'll likely be a few years.

Too bad. I had it on my wish list but can't buy everything the moment I see it. Have to budget. Good luck to you.

I really liked the skull path and might try recreating it in the future.

Hey Grayhand - your a good artist so you will be successful in whatever you decide.
Asset development is something that requires an up front commitment with the knowledge that there is very little return on investment at the beginning.
There are anomalies (well planned) who hit success on there first package, but the majority are putting up a library of content to show consistent art style in several different packages. These artists are seeing success - here - because they are showing consistency in style and the ability to stick around the community for support - if needed.
The majority had to make a decision initially to dedicate to an up front commitment first - for later success. This is how asset creation goes. And not everybody needs/wants skull content, so you were reducing the number of customers right away by the choice of asset you created.
Good luck to you in your VR creation. I'm sure the content will have a high quality bar - if you can overcome the VR restrictions associated with creating assets for that brand of deployment.

I am also looking to go out of this business. Unfortunately soon I will be able to feed family making assets for sale. There is no one can be blamed for this. This is common way of evolution. But for experience artist always will be a work. :)

Noooo!!! This makes me very sad. :( I wish you lots of luck in your future endeavors though and hope you will still be around here. You are definitely at the top of my artist list.

Thank you for kind words Teila. I will release more assets of course.

But it just don't work when I am selling 5-6 copses of character on which I worked month or more. And most of this sale with 50% discount. This work will never be payed back.

I like to make complex character and learn something new with every new model. So I don't really love idea to create fast-food. The only way is to find someone which will be able to pay enough for interesting work. :)

I completely understand. Your characters are beautiful. I think though that so many are making mobile games or using character systems like Fuse or UMA. Your props and other items are my favorites, so wonderful and nothing out there compares.

If we ever make money on games and can afford custom work, I will definitely look you up. :)
