    I've just started learning the basics of digital painting in an attempt to actually texture the models I make. I watched your videos last night and you gave me a huge insight into the concepts I had been struggling with! I can't thank you enough.

    Wow, beautiful! I couldn't do this in two weeks :O But, I'm just started on the whole Unity thing :)

    This was all done with the free unity? There is still nice atmosphere even without shadows.

    Really a great job!

    Nice project! The way you talk about everything you do is great, since we can know the difficulties of doing such a thing. And you are a really fast learner, aren't you?

    thank you everyone,
    the project is going slow now, because school is really busy, just finished my site so I have a bit more time again now
    here you go: decided to get rid of the blockout cubes for potion and gold and the well
    (only potions screenshot atm, going to sleep now )

    Hi there! I like your approach to level editing. Are you doing fixed grid of fluent one? Why don't you give my tile editor a look see:)

    wow that looks like an insane leveleditor, it's like what i was trying to create but way better
    atm I am barely using my mapeditor,
    I put so much time in it and end up not using it,
    but learned tons of unity code so nothing lost

    and i won't drop this, no worrys EvanGreen

    I'm sure this is only a WIP but I feel that this is lacking compared to your other work.

    I did some diffrent ones not too long ago for my WIP game Doodle:



    Well I think the main problem is the red, I sapose it is my prefrence against yours :p but by game design aswell you should make the potions and mana have a higher saturation so that it's easliy noticable to the player. + blood has a high saturation aswell!

    Here's a very quick paint over.



    Sorry about the blue and red outlines, I've been doing some Icons... Habit :p

    Hey looks nice but one thing lol i was going to put up a wip with the same name but different style xd, its from the tutorial series from burgzerg arcade hehe. Keep up the good work man.

    wow thx for the overpaint
    i gave it a little try and it's already much better,
    sometimes i am a little bit to scared of saturated colors
    learned a lot fro mjust watching your quick paint, should look at more ref
    what you think, better?

    Looks a lot better, but you could define the edges a lot more on the metal by using some white as Micah did. :) Btw love your art style, really inspiring!

    added some highlights ro make it read better, and a gradient on the side so it has more depth when seen from top
    removed the swirl for about 75 percent, distracted to much

    painted another hud, finally something usefull
    and painted some ambient fog around the lightsources
    i wonder how i should get those in game
    hud is in game (pretty messy atm but looks kinda like in the paint)

    the fog is still an open question, but i won't spend to much time on that for now
    fog is bit exaggerated atm

    also have some sorting problems with opacity
    i use a plane and a opacity softbrush dot to fake light around potions etc
    if i use a light with bloom, he cuts through the mesh of the potion and its ugly, when i use projection light it looks the same as the plane, but is way heavier
    only good thing is it doesnt has sorting problems

    in the screenshot you see the latest version of the hp potion
    the mp potion is still the old one

    The swirls don't work and it's not the saturation it's the value of the entire thing. You're using using values from black through to white, without thinking about the shape and lighting.

    I Would go into allot more detail but I don't think that I'm professional enough yet to be able to justify if what I say is write or not. But I think that this paint over should nudge you into the write direction.



    Hope that this helps, you should keep the angle of the prop in the game in mind when painting it aswell, as the top is going to be seen the most it should have a higher value (closer to white) than the bottom. When I say closer to white don't use pure white unless your trying to emphasize the light (use with moderation).
