    Hi everyone,

after literally lurking on the forums for years (or answering a question or 2), it's time to show you our little project we're currently working on.

It's called Guns, Gore Cannoli, and is an action/sidescroller/platformgame with 2D HD graphics. Imagine The Godfather playing Metal Slug on the Night of the Living Dead. ;)

Here are some screenshots, and the trailer can be found at www.gunsgorecannoli.com or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9XZUNmOcMoY.

We'll be at Game Connection Lyon the 15th nov till 17th nov as a Selected Project, so if one of you will be there, I'd love to meet up !

    Cheers,
    Karel

Wow, I want to curse out loud! This is perfect!

Can you tell us more about the development progress?
    - When did you start, and how long did it take you to get to a beta state?
    - How many are you in the team, and what are your skill sets?
    - Was there a set budget? How much?

I love this! Now don't tell me this is an iphone only game or something. i want to buy it and play it.

It reminds me of Metal Slug. And everything that reminds me of Metal Slug gets an "awesome" in my book. I want to play it.

I think that, with this game quality, maybe will be released on Steam first (I´m wrong about it?) and, If this game have, at least, have local multiplayer coop mode, then I´ll do not doubt to buy it.

OMG HOLY ****, not that is some cool piece of game! Action, movie sequences, cool art - I hope it is as much enjoyable as it seems now.

Thanks for all the comments everyone ! We really appreciate all your feedback !
We're just back from GC, and it was quite a great and thrilling experience.

To answer some of your questions:

    - we've been working on this project for about a year now, but we only had the chance to work on it on our off-time
    - Our team consists of 3 people. Two awesome animators and myself, an artist brainwashed to code.
    - We haven't made a decision yet about bringing the game to the mobile platforms. That's something we'll investigate in the future, but right now we want to tweak the gameplay till perfection, and build more content.

    Thanks !

    Cheers,

    Karel

Is it possible this is fully 2D - aside from the particle effects?

You've got great style, if I can make something half as beautiful as this game, I'm doing great. Hats off, kudos, and +10,000 Cool Points. Don't spend them all in one place!

    Thanks !

@ Asvarduil: All the animations are indeed fully 2D, and the only real particle emitter that's used now is for the green clouds the infected women are breathing. All fire and gas stuff is fully hand drawn. Yes, we might be crazy haha.
We're using 3D for some small things like bullet casings and for the physics.

Thanks for the loads of cool points, we'll spread them all over the game. ;)

And good luck with your Zombie game (I'm following your progress). ;)
