    Hey!

First time user of Unity. I am trying to complete the Roll a ball tutorial on Unity and I have having issues finding where I insert a GUI text? All I can find is the UI text which doesn't seen to be working with the script that I had to type in the tutorial. Please let me know I am lost right now!

    Thanks! :)

This code worked for me with UI text.
GUI Text seems to be deprecated.
The tutorial is outdated at this stage in relation to text objects .
    (using version 5.0.0f4)

Thanks so much for the help. I will try to make it work for me. But would there also be a place that would be able to give me a more up to date version so I could learn how to do this in other games as well as this tutorial?

    Thanks:)

    1. Create an Empty GameObject
    2. Select the Empty GameObject in the Hierarchy (if it isn't already selected)
    3. In the main menu, go Component -> Rendering -> GUI Text
This adds the GUI Text component to your GameObject. From there on, it all works as described in the tutorial.
