I have an i7 iNuc running Win 10 Pro and a 2015 i5 MacBook Pro, I was thinking about buying an external GPU the AORUS one it runs on a thunderbolt 3, and using it for some pretty intense mathematical computation in Unity on GPU compute shaders. I was wondering if Unity can actually select the right GPU instead of using the internal GPU on both machines since the external would have 8 gigabytes of memory on the GPU versus a much more limited amount on both of the machines before I make this purchase.
I found I would have to upgrade the MacBook because it won't go Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 which is fine, but I was just wondering how unity3d fares with external Thunderbolt 3 gpus as far as compute shaders go. Anyone?
