GPU Event Triggers missing from Update context add block menu

    I'm trying to follow the fireworks tutorial in Unity learn linked below. When I get to step 4 it wants me to add a "Trigger Event on Die" to the update context, but when I try to add it all the GPU events are missing from the add block menu. I am using 2021.2.7 and started with the HDRP project template, but I've also tried it with 2020.3 and got the same result. Attached a screenshot as well. Screenshot 2021-12-18 174041.png
