Getting rid of artifacts

    Hi, sorry if this is a bit of a noob question, but how do I get rid of noise/artifacts that form where two separate objects are in contact? See the noise around the railing of the stairs in the attached image. I'm using realtime global illumination. I've tried adjusting lightmap parameters such as resolution, cluster resolution, irradiance budget and quality and modelling tolerance but nothing seems to affect the artifacts that much. Which object should I adjust the parameters for, the wall, the railing or both? And how? What is the root cause of the artifacts?
