    You can remake some of your shuriken systems to the Visual Effect Graph but you have to keep some things in mind. Since CPU and GPU particles work differently for some things (eg collision) there won't be any auto conversions. The Graph is still getting new features so some things you won't be able to do in it yet and as for scriptable, Unity tools are always being made to be extensible so you can add your own nodes etc.

    Take a look at this video and it should explain/answer some of your questions if not all.

    Yes - this is trivial and you'd enjoy it. It is simply the best possible advice I could ever give.
