[GearVR] How to get user's username?

OVRProfile from Oculus utilities is marked as deprecated, but it stupidly does not contain the optional string on the attribute explaining what one should use instead.

What is the modern way to get the user's Oculus username from within Unity for a GearVR app?

(The entire setup is confusing now - it's super unclear which parts of the Oculus Utilities package you still do or do not need in Unity 2017.2 and 3).
