Gear VR build not using VR splash logo

    I am currently trying to build my project using Unity 4.6.8p1 for Gear VR but the old non-VR Unity logo is showing as the splash not the stereo "VR Friendly" logo mentioned in the 4.6.1p1 patch notes.

    Has anybody had luck building for Gear VR and getting the stereo splash logo?
