    Hi All,

I hope you all are doing good.
With this post I want to confirm one thing that is develop game and win real money. Below is my requirements

I want to develop pool game and in game lets assume Player A and Player B started a match with real money lets assume by $5 per user and once the game is finished and assume Player A wins the game then $8 will be credited to Player A account and remaining $2 will be credited to game owner account. Is this requirements feasible ? I am targeting my game for IOS Devices.

Any information regarding this would be great help.

    Thanks
    Ashish

Check laws where the game is available, it may be considered a gambling app.

    Use a service like Skillz.

Skillz has done all the hard work to determine what does and does not constitute gambling, handles the different laws of the US states, etc.

Second what @JohnnyA said, use something like Skillz, they have done all the legal groundwork for you, unless you have teams of lawyers and massive budgets, you don't want to get involved in the legalities of real money gaming.

Also your game needs to be entirely skill-based, for it to not be considered 'gambling'. Meaning that both players must have a fair chance in the competition, with no randomness, such as pickups/power ups spawning or other random events that could influcence the outcome more favorably for one of the parties.

Not entirely true, although it varies between states and countries according to Skillz (bold is mine)

    ----
    The Predominance Test

The predominance test is the most commonly used indicator of whether a game is skill or chance based. Under this test, one must envision a continuum with pure skill on one end and pure chance on the other. On the continuum, games such as chess would be almost at the pure skill end, while traditional slot machines would be at the pure chance end. Between these ends of the spectrum lie many activities containing both elements of skill and chance. A game is classified as a game of skill if the game falls predominantly closer to the skill end of the continuum.

So there is a little bit of leeway, how close 'predominantly closer' has to be ... well ... who knows ... :)

I'd contact a Unity sales rep and a lawyer. You need a special gambling license from Unity if its considered gambling. This may be based on UT's jurisdiction and not yours. You need a lawyer to work through all the legalities in all of the various geographies you will launch in.

That's not even mentioning Apple's regulations.

    Unity has gambling restrictions:
So, contact unity support. What you propose sounds a lot like gambling to me.

And don't forget App Store rules if you are planning to release it there

    • 20.5
Apps that offer real money gaming (e.g. sports betting, poker, casino games, horse racing) or lotteries must have necessary licensing and permissions in the locations where the App is used, must be restricted to those locations, and must be free on the App Store

    • 20.6
Apps that use IAP to purchase credit or currency to use in conjunction with real money gaming will be rejected

Ha! No wonder that crap is piling up on android so much that it's spilling over into steam. The iOS gold mine with people more likely to buy apps doesn't allow freemium games.

Freemiums are not going anywhere there either. That rule is for real money related gaming and not for game currency such as gems or smurfberries.

Oh. Well, that's unfortunate. So it's allowed as long as the in game currency cannot later be redeemed for cash?

This is true, but I would rather avoid any chance based mechanics completely, to avoid any grey areas.
