game scene preview

New to unity and when i hit the play button to preview game the interface goes black and only the game preview is viewable but i am unable to exit the game view to go back what is going on?

If you don't get a better answer, it looks like a bug to me,
never encountered it.

Try opening the demo project shipped with unity and check your installation is ok

 

Thanks.i tried all that so I submitted a bug report already.it was driving me crazy.

 

Check this preference Edit > Preferences > Colors > Playmode tint
