    Hi all,

I have been busy for the last 2 months creating Save the Jollies, I have used a number of Assets from the Asset Store, the main one being Jelly Sprites.

Save the Jollies is a fun and addictive game of skill and cunning, you must touch and drag Prince Jolly around inside each crate avoiding the crate edges until the timer reaches zero, sounds easy? unfortunately the Jollies are very protective of the Prince, and they will become enraged and speed about inside the crates trying to stop you!

If you survive inside a crate until the timer reaches zero without touching the sides or the other Jollies, your energy force will reach full, and you will be able to magically transport to the next crate.

You need to keep transporting from crate to crate searching for the Ancient Rune Stones, these will allow the Prince to magically transport all the Jollies back home to Jollyland.

Unfortunately, the over protective Jollies don't know your trying to help them and think your just trying to kidnap the Prince, they will not make it easy for you to complete each crate and find the Ancient Rune Stones!

It's FREE and available on Android and iPad, will be available on iPhone shortly.

Love to know what you all think!

Thank you Unity for enabling me to create games! :)

This is the first time I have used the Showcase, and I see there are lots of games people have created with Unity and are announcing on this forum.

I was wondering, I have made this game of mine available for FREE hoping to get good numbers of downloads, so far in both the App Store and Google Play the downloads for my game has been less than 200 combined, after spending 2 months working very hard, and licensing the audio and buying assets from the Asset Store to help me progress my development faster I am left somewhat down-heartened, is this normal? are all new games however good or bad simply needles in haystacks due to the huge numbers of apps now available and being released?

Would love to hear your thoughts and advice?

    All the best!

yeah - it does indeed appear that way (your story is similar to plenty of others I have read)
btw - you should really post youtube video link so people here can get a feel for the gameplay....

That all being said - CONGRATS on your game!!!!!!

Couple of things I'd like to throw out after having downloaded and played the game....

Really could use 'relative' movement controls - placing my finger ON the main character to move is kinda painful - can't ever see him - and my finger constantly gets in the way of the action.

Wasn't sure if you realized that you can 'swipe' from anywhere NOT on your character - and he sorta teleports there. It's not mentioned in the instructions....

User interface elements (dialogs and such) look crisp and clean (couple of spelling errors).

I only played through 8 or so levels - was there anything more to it than avoiding the bad guys and picking up coins?

Thanks for trying it out and your comments!

I have thought about adding a relative control as an option, so I certainly appreciate your feedback.

As well as collecting the coins and avoiding the bad guys, you also need to look out for Rune Stones that appear on some levels, 10 in total to collect over 100 levels! Plus there are the power-ups that appear of which some help, and others make things worse, such as double-speed, or double-size.

The coins will be used to buy power-ups for use to survive future more difficult levels.

Thanks for feedback on interface etc, I have worked hard to make my game look crisp and clean, could you let me know where you saw spelling errors?

All the best and thanks again!

    Greg

I forgot to say, this is a hidden feature, which I hope users discover and then use when stuck in a corner etc... good to know you found it, so I am sure others will, and its the sort of thing that would get shared online and socially! :)

I have posted a couple of videos on YouTube showing the gameplay as suggested.

    First is a game trailer...

Next is Level 21 which is a tricky one to complete! :)
