I created this Spectrum-style isometric adventure in Unity for a friend's 40th birthday - it's the long awaited third part of the 'Henry' trilogy I began for him back when we were 14. The learning curve is ridiculously steep, it is a million miles away from being optimised, and the graphics are intentionally scrappy hand scrawls: but I had a whole bowl of fun making it so I'd love other people to enjoy playing it. For those interested, it took about three weeks to make.

There are 25 cheat codes to unlock, to help you - it's crazy hard, but it IS completable!

To download visit: (I haven't tested the Windows version, only the OSX version)

Please like mistertricks on Facebook (and do post a hello if you enjoy the game!) I'm working on iOS games too so that's a good way to hear any announcements. I won't mind if you post the cheat codes you find, to help others - at least I'll know someone's playing it!

    THANKS!

By the way, here's a cheat code to get you started: type WIMP to make life easier in most rooms (it'll get rid of one baddie or other obstacle).

And since my friend couldn't even make it out of the first room (though it's easy once you know how), LOBBY will teleport you to the second room.

But it's more satisfying if you can do it without the codes!

I'll admit I am stuck on the first scene...
I moved the one block jumped on the conveyor...and then...
I can't tell if I SHOULD be able to jump to the higher up 'non poison' block or not at the end of the conveyor......

    Aha! A taker!

    Yes, the solution is:
Push the upper bottom right block of the prison to get out.
Jump to the first conveyor. You can run in the opposite direction to the conveyor's movement to stay in the same place.
Jump to the normal block (it dissolves) then straight to the second conveyor. Needs timing with baddie 1.
Get to the end of the second conveyor. You'll probably have to run to stay at the end for timing.
Jump South-West to the dissolving block, North-West to the dissolving block then again to the door. Timing here is critical - when the 2nd baddie is moving South-West and is 1 block away from the wall is when to jump from the conveyor.

The cheat code WIMP gets rid of the second baddie.

If all else fails, use that other cheat code I posted, LOBBY, to go to room 2.

By the way, that dissolving block between the 2 conveyors is at the same height as the conveyors. Damn you, isometric projection!

I actually kind of like the graphics. I will give it a try when I get home.

    I downloaded and tried.

I found it hard and couldn't figure how to put cheat codes in.

The isometric view made it very hard to control.

Cheat codes you simply type during gameplay.

Yep I suppose isometric games need some getting used to if you've never played them. I grew up on exactly this kind of game so it's kind of second nature to me.

    Anyway thanks for trying.

Usually they still have shadows to help you out.

Not on the Spectrum they didn't! But I take your point. If I was making a more modern looking isometric game, I would probably include shadows.

UPDATE: version 1.03 beefs up the "WIMP" cheat code to make life even easier in most rooms. Seriously, if you can't complete the first room now, you need to go back to school!

Reminder: To activate a cheat code, simply type it during gameplay. No need to hit return after.
