I have no idea what to try. I was working on my game and imported a new skybox. Game ran fine and all worked well. Opened the game later and it's just an empty scene. Opened the backup from 2 weeks ago that was on my external - empty scene. Opened the backup on my laptop - empty scene. I am kind of new to Unity but I feel like It shouldn't have just vanished from 2 computers and a backup. I'm so confused.

Restarted computer and reinstalled unity twice.
Someone please tell me I'm stupid and show me how to fix this.

Load the scene once you've opened the project.

Thank you, deleted my library folder and the error went away, everything works now. I was confused on save oriject vs save scene.

This is an EXCELLENT time to start using source control. You ducked a bullet this time; will you be so lucky next time? Git and Mercurial are free options, and Bitbucket is a free host for both, Github lets you host git... go set it up right now.

Developing without source control is like playing a massive RPG adventure game without a save file. Don't do it.
