Game Idea Suggestions? (Evil Village/ town)

    So i'm creating a game where you're a monster hunter who has a tip about a small town/ village that has gone mad for no reason. This was heavily inspired by RES 4's village level but I can't seem to think of any way to change the idea so it isn't a complete rip off (I was gonna have a church/ farm/ mansion etc.) So far in the game I created drag able doors like amnesia to try and make it different. Any suggestions on how I can make this my own? I already have so much done and I really don't want to start from scratch.

    just off the top of my head.... turn it around, so that the player (monster hunter) is not directing the building of any of the buildings shops in town, but, instead the player, witch/monster hunter is buring and destroying buildings they don't want or are a baad influence on the rest of the village... like the game engine builds a small town, then the player explores this, and orders some buildings closed like the tavern, the thieves' guild, maybe the monster hunter has to close the goldmine so that the dragon will go away or or stop attacking the village til the player can hunt the dragon..

    the monster hunter can also build stuff, like churches, a thieves guild, what the player wants in the town.. just some thoughts.

    I'm gonna go for a winter environment brought on by a mutant species, turning the villagers into insane, mutated freaks/ I would like non human like monsters as well. I'm still unsure why all this would of happened.

    winter environment is nice, because you can use the same white texture for every roof...

    also makes any transitions easier to hide, with snow.
