    HI,

I would like to create a game that is like a simulation in the kitchen, and as a chef to take care and micro management of the restaurants.

Mostly 2D, but may be 3D to simulate the cooking processes of the dish.

Do you think Unity can handle that kind of game with a lot of options/settings?

    Thanks,

I personally don't know what kind of games Unity can't handle. But what I know is, that Unity exists since 2005. This means 17 years of development and experience are included in this game engine. Also half of the Top 1000 smatphone games are made with Unity. Sounds to me that Unity isn't a bad game engine at all.

But at the end it is up to you, what you make out of Unity. Sure you can program yourself a hell and drop your game performance incredibly. But if you stick to best practices and do things the right way, you can certainly make your game come true.

But at the end: There are other big game engines out there like Unreal Engine, Frostbite Engine, etc and many smaller ones. Every engine has its advantages and disadvantages. However a professional of the game industry told me that Unity is the most beginner friendly engine across the big ones. And in nearly one year of working with Unity I made good experience so far. Besides being a powerful engine I really appreciate the support by the Unity staff. That was something I missed before on working with some niche game engines.

It will defiantly handle it. Creating a prototype within a week or two wont hurt you, to see how it feels for you.
