    Hey forums

From what I can understand, Unity is a compiler that also lets you make the structure of your games. Now I already understand the coding aspect of development, but what I was wondering i what programs do people use to make the objects/animations in the game (i.e player, NPCs, weapons ect.). Could you guys reccomend two programs (one for 3d one for 2d). Thanks in advance

ps. A friend told me i could use adobe illustrator for 2d objects any truth to that?

For 3D animating most 3D modelling software on the market support animation including Blender, Autodesk 3ds Max, Maya etc.

I am not sure about Illustrator, but I've been able to make 2D animations in Adobe Flash. I heard that Anime Studio is also good, don't let the name confuse you, it's not used for anime only. :p

I heard about anime studios and yeah I don't have any problem with anime anyway (I will say tho that Hellsing and trigun are dope) anyway yeah I'm just trying to get an idea seeing as I've saved up enough money for one program, I wanna make sure I get the right one the first time.

You can download the trial version of the software and test it. I guess 1 month is enough.
