Game Dev Wishlist is a brand new website, developed by game devs for game devs!

    Features
    • browsing assets using filters like "On Sale", "Lowest price", "At least 50% off"
      • "On Sale" tracks both official and non-official sales!
    • looking at the price history
    • [Requires login] adding assets to your wishlist.
    Wishlist
By default you will be notified about all sales for assets in your wishlist. But you can also set up your own alert settings!
Like be notified only when an asset:
    • drops more than X $
    • drops more than X %
    • hits his lowest price ever
We hope to provide both better information to game devs, as well as more sales to publishers!
    See you there: https://gamedevwishlist.com

A look at how it is when you change an asset wish preference!

Might follow the progress on this. The wishlist and price history is interesting.
But to beat asset store in visitors will be hard with just that.

Feels a bit like an affiliate link farm. So need to find more interesting features id say.

Hi @nuwn :)! Thanks for your feedback

Our goal is neither to replace or "beat" the asset store, but to provide more information on buying assets through features that the asset store will most likely never implements. The asset store:
    • doesn't have price history
    • doesn't display all price drops, only the official sales. On gamedevwishlist, all prices drop can be filtered and searched for
    • has a wishlist system, but it doesn't notify you every time an asset goes on sale, so you are likely to miss it.

This is not our goal either, so I am sorry if it looks like it at the moment. The main goal of the affiliate links is to keep the website and database running and up to date.
We are heavily inspired by a similar service that exists for video games (IsThereAnyDeal), that we love and also love how it's run and the community around it.

We will try to improve our message about the website, some ideas that we want to implements are:
    • Adding a donations system instead of in addition to the affiliate links, we a counter at the top of the website so you can see how much the server are paid for every month.
    • Giving a certain % (let's say 50%) of all donations and affiliates revenues to selected charities every month. This way when you buy assets through the website, you are also giving money to charity at no cost for you nor the publisher.
What do you think about these, but moreover do you have any other ideas on how to improve on this?

We have a lot of these in our backlog that we are currently implementing ;) But do you have any suggestion?

Oh sorry for the super late response, didn't get notified and stuck in a lot of projects xD

I really do like this feature of yours.

And yes affiliate is a way to sustain the website you are right. I guess I've always have seen affiliate links as a bad stigma, perhaps others have other opinions on this. For me, it's mostly that it's a lot of links just linked directly to the asset store. how to get that to feel good might be hard.

The donation system you mentioned can be good once you guys see usage I guess. donation to charity is nice, but make sure you can survive off it :p

One suggestion that might increase usage would be a Twitter bot that posts the latest sales, just make sure that you cache all newest sales so you don't accidentally spam the users. An example of that could be

"Spring sale has arrived at the asset store, see more and wishlist here *your website* follow to get the latest sales as soon as they arrive.

I'm not good at wording ads so you could improve that massively.

And something I as an asset dev would love would be random Twitter promotions xD but ye that's perhaps too far. but someway to flirt with all the existing asset devs would perhaps be a great thing to get support.

I'm looking forward to seeing where this leads. if I come up with more ideas I'll keep you noticed^^
