    Hi,
    some explaining before the question:

on the casual market I see alot of sponsorship support, could be because the games are much more lighter in size and take less bandwidth, or the gamers have more instant gratification. or they can be refreshed much faster due to less development time.

is there a more common way to get sponsored in unity? like on those terms above? smaller memory size games are more likely?
are there any articles on the issue? is the unity market different than the casual( i see alot of casual games at WIP)?
but also alot of unique games which are heavier, on size and that applies to a much smaller slice of the market(like adventure games?)

I hope I got the question delivered properly..would love some insights.

Unity has nothing to do with sponsorship, game size or lightness or anything else you've mentioned for that matter.

It is a game engine made to develop a game for any genre, of any size and budget, from the smallest to the biggest.
Getting sponsorship/publishing is all about your game and what you have made, whether you use Unity or not is irrelevant.

The most common way to "get sponsored in unity" is to create an awesome game.

    you don't understand.
I'm saying for example-unity compared to flash game.
flash games already have platform for casual games, built in browsers. they take less resources compared to unity.
and from what I've seen so far the market for flash has more sponsorship.
if not-I'd love to read some articles stating sales for unity games. how unity games fare in the browser market slash casual market.
    statistics.
I'm not asking about getting sponsored, I'm a supplier.

Hi ambitious_sound. I see what you are talking about. In the flash world its quite possible to get a portal to sponsor the development of a flash game in exchange for a period of exclusivity (armorgsmes.com does this for example). No such equivalent mechanism exists for games made with Unity.

    exactly!
so how do they get funded? they just go to sponsors one by one? do they present their games on a browser platform?
or do they send files? how does that work usually?
what market do they apply to? going for mobile is very expensive. so browser or direct download. Is steam greenlight expensive?

what about platforms such as desura? are there more like these?

    sorry for the many questions..

yep FGL is fantastic for exactly that, I know.
i found some threads about sales statistics in here through google(and not a forum search).
so the main market for unity is for mobile gaming.

is anyone here uses desura to promote his works?
