New painted brick will be coming soon

 

New painted brick coming soon to the package:

 

It would be good to have some lightly glossy painted brick, without wear, that we can change the color on. That way you can use it for multiple businesses, residences, etc.

I suppose I could could take a brick normal and apply a tint to a white albedo and work out a setting for smoothness / gloss.

 

Something like this?

Do you have better reference photos of what you're looking for?

 

That's interesting, and would be nice, but it looks like that brick was painted only once. Old painted brick has less texture due to the paint smoothing the brick surface out, remaining a little rough on the edges of the grout.

For a solution, as I mentioned in an edit above, maybe I can just use a white albedo and try to make adjustments in order to get the type of repainted brick I see the most. There's all kinds of painted brick and block, and maybe it's better for you to focus on the more complicated things that can't be finessed in the editor. Like, bricks that have worn paint ... you can't do that very easily in the editor.

 

Yeah, I'll certainly be putting more into those as well. A cinder block wall may be more what you're after?

That's also nice, and it would all be good to have, but not what I was thinking of. There's so many kinds of brick and block, and it's great to have variety.

Maybe this gives the idea? And this or this as a living example.

Basically, old brick that has been gentrified with new paint, possibly over layers of older paint, thus more smooth and semi-glossy.
