When I set the Aim type to "Group Composer" I get a message that the LookAt target isn't a kind of ICinemachineTargetGroup. But the look at target I have set has a CinemachineTargetGroup component. This seems like it should work. What am I doing wrong, or is this message displaying erroneously?

    Unity version 2022.120f1, Cinemachine 2.8.9

For what it's worth, I seem to get the same warning when creating a brand new Target Group Camera from the Cinemachine menu.

This is a bug. Does it still happen if you upgrade to the latest version of CM? 2.9.5 or 2.9.7.

I am not seeing a button to update it, but I am seeing other packages are updatable. Perhaps I am on the latest version allowed by my unity version 2022.1.20f1?

Unfortunately it seems that I am still getting the warning message even on CM 2.9.7

    upload_2023-8-26_11-32-44.png

In package manager, I get a warning that CM 2.9.7 isn't recommended in unity 2022.1.20f1.

I'm going to attempt to update my project to a version of unity that can support CM 3, which I just learned exists. I don't currently need CM for any critical gameplay stuff, I am just starting to learn about it myself for the future. Given that the programming model changes significantly in CM 3, I think I'd rather just learn the new way.

Will look at it. Even if you recreate the VCam from scratch with the new version it is still happening? Sometime upgrading a bugged VCam doesn't always solve the issue. You may unfortunately need to recreate it.

Weird shouldn't be the case... Not sure why you had this warning but this version works and is tested up to 2022.2.

Great idea. It's a nice version to start learning cinemachine.

Got everything up and running in CM 3 I think, so no looking back now. Thanks!
