The forums will be down for maintainance for a short while tomorrow (Tuesday), while we upgrade our server. We'll tell you a couple of hours in advance, and the lock the forums until the new system has been activated.

When we get back to business, you'll be browsing on a super-powered machine, and the PHPBB bulletin board will have been upgraded.

Hope you can enjoy that silence for while.

What am I supposed to do with my time if I can't check for new messages every 2 minutes? :)

Good luck, hope everything goes smoothly. :D

The forums are going down in 20 minutes. When you come back in an hour, they should be up again.

    See you there!

The server switch is over. If you run into anything strange, please drop me a mail at david@otee.dk.

From a quick observation it works and is noticeable faster too.

Is the "New posts since your last visit" link gone or am I missing something?

Thinking that it wasn't so much used I moved it below the forum overview. Anyway it's still there. I'm using NetNewsWire Lite, which is just wonderful for forums.

The "newest posts" button is my favorite feature in the many forums I visit. I vote for more prominent placement. Anyone else?

But it's a valid point; In forums I don't quite follow close enough to be RSS-worthy, the latest posts is also my number-1 entrance vector. but yeah, I do have that bookmarked, though

You have a point there... I forgot that not everyone uses an RSS reader to access the forum. (Or is regular enough to bookmark that link.)

The "powers that be" listened. And acted. The forum should now be "fixed".

Thanks, I was about to ask for the same thing. :)

One other thing I keep noticing: there are links for View Previous/Next Topic in the top right corner of a thread page, but they're in white text on a white background. You can just see the pair of colons between them! It might be worth tracking down the offending bit of CSS (class="white"?) and making them the same grey as everything else. ;)

I'm not sure why, but ever since the changes/maintenance to the forums I don't get email notifications of replies.

Seems I got it fixed now. At least I see a stead stream of "delivered" in the mail logs, and nothing but that.
