Forum Awards

I am fairly certain I can post a suggestion here and think you guys might find it interesting. I would like to possibly see some forum awards that users can earn. It would go under your post count, and I think it would be a fun way to engage users on the forum. An example of these icons could be something like this

Example 2

The awards could be given for receiving a milestone or making a achievement. ( They shouldn't be given out to just anyone, you should have to do something exceptional for it)

Some examples would be :

1. If you attend a unity3d event you would be given a unique award
2. When you reach 15-20k posts
3. Are a member for 5-10 years
4. Have a impressive game on the android market
5. Have a impressive game on the IOS market
6. A recognized member who is extremely helpful when it comes to questions on the forum
7. Has a impressive asset on the store


Things like that would be really cool and rewarding for people who use the forums.

 

Does everyone hate this idea or what? Would love to see some feedback on this suggestion

 

Don't think anyone would really cares its more like personal goal, you can still put such stuff in a signature to show others to such things.

Though they could put under the avatar some more things like I dunno...

But it would be engaging I think for users to try and collect the awards. Plus it is basically a award that might be unique to your account, since you have done something worth rewarding.

I like the Assets released suggestion though, but I think it would be cooler if there was a award for uploading a asset

 

Honestly, Unity Answers doesn't even give you a score when you help people.
On other answer sites like stack exchange you accumulate currency for being helpful so you at least get back something but Unity doesn't do this which means Unity Answers are prettymuch a wasteland.

If they're not going to implement a system like this where they need to they sure as hell aren't going to implement it here.

The idea of badges or awards on the forums are something we've looked into on our end. If we have any potential updates to bring an awards system into use we will let everyone know.
