Fog Volume 3

    I had this same problem even with latest in 2019.4, but was able to get it working by clicking "Save Materials". Is that the expected solution?

    Hello, i can't make working fog 3 with 2020.1.9f1 with universal render pipe line ? it' should work ?

    Apollo's Dream II is now live!
    A ton of work went into this one, I hope everyone will enjoy it.
    Creating beauty with Unity for a Virtual Experience with an original soundtrack is a lot of fun and I hope it shows in the video.

    Fog Volume 3 helps create a wonderful environment for this old west experience.

    No, it was developed before the introduction of render pipelines

    FV needs zdepth to make collision work. Every shader in the scene must write depth. You could duplicate the terrain, assign a standard material and activate "Shadows Only" on its renderer settings

    Love the asset, wish it worked in HDRP though - are there any plans for this?

    I am trying to use this as a main cloud system for a giant map 6k x 6k. Is it better to use one big fog volume or many small ones. But I am guessing there is limitation to the size how large it can go. After increasing the size for bit I started seeing edge of the clouds

    hey man how do you set Max distance from border (in this case, cube?) in scene Fast Clouds?

    my problem is that from outside the cloud area/box, you literally see the clouds being cut by a box

    Id rather have them slowly fade in

    im not sure, is there such option? ive been looking but im probably overlooking it if there is

    Try the fade option in the Volume settings.
    Activate 'Noise', 'Renderer' then 'Radius Fade' and set your distance.
    That should clear the sharp edges. You can also do 'Height Gradient' if the top is too even.

    Well, that is how it works. What you can do is to use a sphere primitive in aditive mode in the center of the volume. There are settings to control the softness of the primitive

    How do you make it respect the Ambient color and Unity's Fog Color in Unity's Lighting tab? I couldn't find the solution. It would benefit the ambient colors consistently. I'm using UDRP for this. Thank you!

    Then would the best way is to Enable the fog's Gradient and script the ambient color under the fog's Lighting tab?

    Hello there! I'm working with HDRP in Unity 2021.1 and can't get the scene collision working.In fact the volume turns invisible. The docs say to enable DOF as a work-around, but that does not seem to have any effect. Any known ways to solve this? Thanks in advance!

    ...I don't think FV3 offers HDRP support? Am I wrong, if so I might check this out again myself

    Fog Volume doesn't work with render pipelines.

    HI!
    This asset has some incompatibilities with URP
    My Unity Version 2021.1.16 URP Version 11.0.0
    Are there any plans to add support them in next version?

    Hello, in any case a very good job and works great so far have no problems. But I already have one question about it. Is it possible to create a zone within the fog that is not touched by the fog? Example: A house is in the woods There is no fog everywhere in the house. So the fog moves past the object. I want to use the fog for a BattleZone. There should be no fog within the zone. Outside of that, which then contracts more and more.

    This video was made using FV3. Great for atmosphere, to put fog right where you want it is wonderful thing.

    hey before i leave a review on that asset because im not impressed at all with the black screen on play mode can you tell me how to fix that using unity 2020 and its black screen

    i guess its because you need to make the asset urp compatible and hdrp too
    i bought it for making videos but i think ill get a refound

    I made an experiment to input the coverage parameter as a texture instead of a simple slider value.

    It is not compatible at all. URP or HDRP would require to remake the whole asset from scratch.

    First, I would like to say that it is such an amazing asset, but now I have a question about the performance. I'm trying to use the "Fog Volume [Clouds]" prefab in my scene and it looks so amazing, but fps drops more than 90%. Is this somehow easily solvable without losing the quality of the prefab? I'm using this on the big terrain. I did try to reduce the view distance but then clouds don't load or they are not visible at all. Reducing LOD Bias also doesn't do much. Also I tried tweaking settings inside the prefab but no luck.

    Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello, I am using your asset with Unity 2020 (Standard pipeline) and wanted to update my project to Unity 2021 (Standard pipeline) but it just broke your asset.
    Mainly because the "Hidden/FogVolume" I guess, because I have missing materials on my fog volume, yet I duplicated my project.
    Also the top panel "Fog Volume -> Create fog volume" isn't working either.
    I would really need to switch to 2021 (for new input system and Unity localisation).

    Hope you can help.

    I was just about to ask if Fog Volume 3 was compatible with 2021 because I can't seem to get it to work either.

    In the showroom example scene I get null references in FogVolume.cs on 1761, 1296, and 1337.

    Hello, I just tried it with the exact same version and it doesn't work :/
    The top menu doesn't allow me to create a fog and the demo scene aren't working neither.
