    Hi all.

Rust has fog that seems to hug the ground just like in real life, especially at dawn. Anyone have any idea how they do it? They use Unity but Unity's fog seems to be equal top to bottom.

They may be using their own custom particle effect that is imitating ground fog.

Also this answer/question is relevant. Just a simple Google search away.

Can you point me to it please? I've googled but all I can find is a one liner that says it's done on a per pixel bases relative to the sunlight. Doesn't really help at all. Is it a full screen effect, Particle system or something clever in the terrain shaders?

It's atmospheric scattering and part of one of the skybox solutions on asset store (the guy who did the asset also did the work on rust). I'm not able to search for you though.
