    Hello everybody!
I've worked my way through the great Real-time Animated Storytelling and enjoyed it a lot. I now started my own scene and hopefully rebuild everything from the tutorial.

When I'm now doing the focus tracking (like in chapter 6.4) technique I noticed something really strange. When I start the tracking on an animation track all the post processing is "gone" and I see it again when the recording stoped and I click on another track.

Here you can see the behavior.

    Any Ideas?

    I'm on a Mac, Unity 2020.1.10f1 with Cinemachine 2.63.

Hi Mattukat2go, does this mean that you've lost either of your post-processing effects, or focus tracking, or both? Or that you obviously need to preview the focus-tracking effect when in record mode?

I've recently encountered some strangeness when I was working with a post-processing volume recently for the latest 2020 editor version, using the Universal Render Pipeline (URP) template. But this may entirely be a separate thing... And that I was able to correct it later by going into the Edit > Project Settings > Graphics, and making sure the UniversalRP-HighQuality (UniversalRenderPipelineAsset) was selected. You could double-check this too as a quick check....

That said, however, The Realtime Animated Storytelling course was designed and tested in the Unity Editor version 2019.4 LTS. Although the v2020 editor is really cool from my checking it out lately, I'm still building my projects in the 2019.4 version. The reason for me is just a simple specific reason, which is the Bolt visual scripting asset which I use and like, just works best in 2019.4 for mac.

My recommendation is that you downgrade your project from version 2020 to 2019.4 to keep everything matched to the RT Animated Storytelling course. But before you do so, very importantly, make a copy of your project folder first as a backup, before opening it up in the Unity Hub, and choosing the earlier version to downgrade the project to... If anything happens from the transition, you've still got the original project folder.

    Hope that helps!!!

Hey barge9! When I do the focus tracking keyframes, it loses temporary all effects and focus. When I added the keyframe and select another layer everything is back on and shows the edits I made. I figured out a workaround. When I go into the animation keyframe timeline everything stays visible.

As of version 2019 vs 2020. I wanted to go with 2019 but encountered a problem, where I couldn't record tracks an switched to 2020. This project is nearly done. But I think I give 2019 for my next project another shot!

    All the best!
