    Hey there,
    I'm having problems using flow in unity5

    Is there any chance it will work in a near future?
    If not, can you indicate me where I could find an asset that would do the same thing

    would be great to have a U5 support in the next time.. since i needed to change to U5 and can´t use flow now..

    oh ,I didn't knew that,thanks.

    Actually,I was kind of got effect like that using flow shader.

    What I did, used two materials on same plane, then added wave texture on it (black and white) and animate with Flow controller.

    Any way to get sea shore effect ?

    I see you have mention earlier it will be in upcoming version, but till the time any hacky way?

    No, dynamics and buoyancy are physics parts, not related to shaders. Flow 2 will have shore effects, depth, realtime reflections, GI (U5) and other visual improvements.

    Actually Flow in unity 5 works quite good without any issues so far. (Only couple of shaders giving pink out put.)

    @Arkhivrag I will suggest you to change asset name from "Flow" to "Flow water" or something similar as people who needed water assets just search as "Water" and in that your brilliant asset get hide from those people.

    okay
    but is there a chance, as buyer of flow, to get your anounced flowmap painter as beta or such?

    since the waiting time is vurrently extremely high - and some projects really stuck cause of problems with U5 or the lack of a included FM painter for workflow..

    Asset store desparately needs a good river shader :)

    Is Flow 2 going to be a completely separate product or will people who own Flow automatically get an upgrade to Flow 2?

    I'm looking to find a proper shader to make a river, but it seams that it's a sensitive subject with Unity.

    Flow seams interesting, but I see here that there are a few problems with Unity 5. I tried to download the free version by it's not in the store any more.

    Why is that?

    Also, what kind of issues Flow has with Unity 5?

    I didnt seen any issue with flow shader ..atleast not for mobile shaders...

    Do you have documentation for making procedural flow maps for this shader? I understand the theory (I've made them before), but I'd like an example that's known to work with this shader (or confirmation that it's not possible for some unity-specific / implementation specific reason, if that's the case).

    (I need procedural rivers at the moment. I will write my own if I have to, and share, but I remember seeing flow a couple of years ago and being impressed at the quality - I would much prefer to use flow, and write a procedural generator for it, than have to re-implement the whole shader myself)

    Hey Idurvesh, you mentioned that you had Flow working well with Unity 5 with the exception of some shaders? Can you give any more detail on that? And how are you generating your flow maps?

    Arkhivrag, I recognise you're not officially supporting Unity 5, but since it sounds like it might mostly work, would you consider a trial so I can see if it will suit my purposes before I spend money on it? No sweat if you'd rather not :)

    I just read this forum's all posts from start to end and learnt to make my custom flow map and other little tricks ...Will suggest you to do same.....

    check this quote from Arkhivrag for how to make flowmap...

    You basically opens up photoshop, and instead of playing directly with layers, go to "Channels" tab >play with RGB channels separately.....

    He also had provided one good example of river flow map, opening it in photoshop helps too....

    I finally caved in and bought Flow since I couldn't find an alternative.

    Going through the demo scenes now, and I see there is one related to River Prop and it says that it only works in Unity Pro.

    I guess this is an issue with the "not Unity 5 ready". Is there a way to bypass it and make that shader work?

    Hello again!

    I'm trying to make use of the Flow_BumpSpecular shader. I followed the documentation and created the flow map in FlowMap Painter.

    In the results, it looks like the flow map is ignored all together.
    Is this an issue related to compatibility, or something else? Maybe I missed something with the map preparation?

    I understand that it's not ready for Unity 5, but what I'm asking is what is the incompatibility issue specifically.

    Is the issue the fact that the pro shaders are locked?

    Is the flow map feature broken?
    I'm asking this because I'm trying to make a river work this past few days, but I cannot make the flow of the river follow the Flow Map, at all.

    Being new to this package, I'm wondering if this is something I'm doing wrong or an issue of the incompatibility.

    It's unclear what may be wrong in your situation, but make sure that flow map has blue and alpha channels as well.
    Blue – channel determines flow effect visibility
    Alpha - channel determines flow revealing and its direction (from white to black). With this channel it is
    available to animate flow revealing/hiding.

    Wow, I came back to check on the progress of Flow 2 and I see the price jacked up to $199. What's the deal with that? Has this been abandoned?

    I bought this when it was around 20€. It was a bit risky, since it says that it's not prepared for Unity 5, but the shader I needed works mostly fine for me on Unity 5.6 (Base Bump Specular). The only thing that should be fixed here is the emission, since the bloom from the new Post Processing Stack doesn't seem to recognize it, and no glow is rendered on it (which it does with other material shaders with similar color and emission value).

    I came by to see if there are any news, specially now that the price is 215.50€... But I see no answers. What's the deal with this? Is it really going to be updated, or has it been abandoned, despite the huge price increase? Why that price?

    Man, I aquired three shaders from this guy, but with this kind of communication, I'm starting to regret it :(

    Unfortunately Unity does not allow publishers to temporarily disable or hide asset from the store.
    I do not want it to be sold until update is available.
    But will not refuse if someone decides to do such investment :).
