Hey guys, long time forum stalker, first time poster :)

We're a new studio, and we thought we'd try start with something easy and "polish a bird" as it were.
It's free (mobile versions have an ad down the bottom) so feel free to give it a crack!

Cheers guys, we promise we'll try for something more original next time :)

    Great job
I really like what you've done, nice graphics and feels good, maybe you'll earn some cash on this aswell :) (Even though, as you said, it is not the most original) Anyways, you guys did complete a game, which is very good, because often people start with MMOs or Online FPS, you have been realistic and completed a project, im proud :) Keep it up, and im looking forward to seeing your original ideas come to life! Give me a PM next time you publish!

    Absolutely Awesome Work..

Guys, I am really amazed at the hard work you have put here. All the modelling and perfectness makes me feel really awesome. If you guys were in Sydney, I would have personally visited you and wished. :) Looking forward to your next project.

I'm one of the programmers on the team, thanks for the kind words!

The water is a heightmap with much a greater density toward the camera. The vertices are calculated each frame on CPU (would be better in a shader though) based on a sine wave and a list of "ripples", which overlay another sine wave. To render, its broken into several "strips" with different materials; the background body of water isnt actually transparent, it has the sky colour pre-blended into it, making it quicker to render and better hide the seam where the background hills end. The shimmer effect is done with a simple cone-shaped particle system (scaled down on the Y axis and set to Horizontal Billboard), and the splashes are emitted from the OnParticleCollision event (really cool feature!) when the rain hits the water surface. It takes a bit of fiddling to get it looking right, but its not too difficult to create.

I think we all went through the stage of trying to build an MMO, but eventually we've gotta settle for something realistic :). Hopefully we'll have another more unique puzzle game on our Facebook soon!

Hey yeah, thanks for the encouragement guys! My understanding of how Weesals did the water in layman's terms is it was a combination of magic and fairy dust :) In terms of making money to be honest, the game probably won't do great seeing as how saturated the market is, but the main thing is we got a polished product finished!

Thanks again guys, we'll keep nutting away at getting our skills up and hopefully we can step it up for the next project!
