Im a programmer not an artist

I am trying to make the art of my game but since I have no money and no artists, I decided to make it on my own. How does the base player look? This is for the base of all the players and a lot of the enemies. Does it look nice? Do I need to resize or move anything? Thanks!!! :D

That's pretty cool ! Are you an artist yourself or did you just learn to do that on the fly ? If you have a good tutorial on how to do simple (yet pretty sweet) characters like your I'd be much interested :)

No actually this is my very first time with no tutorials or anything. I did a lot of looking at other various pixel characters. What I noticed most is that the head is usually bigger than the body and it does not have a neck. The arms are usually as tall as the inside lining of the body (3 pixels tall in my case).

You can use my layout right here if you would like (64²)

This reminds me of magicite honestly.

But good work! Looks great for something simple

Ah yes there are a lot of similarities. I discovered this game while looking for examples through the internet. The art style fit my game somewhat (the large head looked great in that game and mine).

    Well, I mean.

Fez had large heads to, so I guess if you wanna use that as a similarity... It's like Fez?

I really like your little animation! Has a top of character to it. I had to think of magicite as well but I don't see that as a bad thing because that game has a fantastic art style!

Looking forward to see where this is heading :)

Can you tell us a little more about your game?

    :)
Looks like castle crashers little brother. Good job - maybe you are an artist and just don't know it yet!
