I have done much research into first person camera controllers, but I can't seem to find the ideal set up.

I am trying to develop a first person camera controller that can be used on touch devices. The inputs from the user would have to come from the user swiping, pinching etc rather than using a UI joystick. I have seen first person camera controllers that make use of UI joysticks but this isn't what I am looking for.

I am unsure what to do right now???

Find a game that exists on mobile that has the controls you are looking for and post the link here.

What's tripping you up? Swiping is just like using the mouse, you'd control the pitch and yaw of the FPS camera by measuring the input deltas.

I would just write it and tweak it until it feels right. Then put it down for a week, maybe even two, then try it again. Iterate u Neil you can put it down for a while and pick it up and it still feels good.

Honestly, I’ve not sure anyone has figured out how to make a good unit scheme for touch, all the ones I’ve played felt really awkward.

If that's the case would it be best to just go with joysticks?
