I have a project I haven't touched in more than a year. Is there a file in the project folder somewhere I can open to tell me what version of Unity is was last opened with?

edit: totally wrong forum... sorry. I've reported myself.

If you open a newer version of Unity, does the project show up there (in the projects tab of the start screen)? If so, it will tell you the last version of Unity that you used to open it.

Unity 5 has a file named ProjectVersion.txt in the ProjectSettings folder that shows the version used. For older versions you can try opening one of the asset files in that folder and checking for a version number. Both text and binary forms of the file should have the number included.

Go into your project settings folder and within it there will be a text document called ProjectVersion.txt This will give you the editor version and type.

Thanks! Got it. It's Unity 4 so there is no text doc but the ProjectSettings.asset worked.
