    Hey everyone.

I'm going to start sharing promotional videos of Felis, my (first) upcoming game.

The video doesn't explain well what the game's about (sorry about that) but overall it's a game about rescuing cats from evil animals/creatures, nothing too crazy.

I'm not 100% sure where can I post this and upcoming trailers, so I'll just start at the Unity Forums. Any suggestions appreciated!

If you can't see the video from your device, here are some screenshots:

    Thanks for your Time,

    More information soon!

This is freaking awesome! Seriously one of the best presentations I have seen in a game. It is like playing inside a big studio animated movie world.

You guys are very kind!! Still a lot of work ahead but I finally have a functional game, need to add enough levels so it becomes a finished product.
    Will keep you posted!

@randomperson42: Hey! Yeah, it's basically the "same" game in development, but I made some changes along the way, now it will be called Felis, and the characters you rescue are now cats.

The idea of the game is that you go through the level rescuing cats which tag along, and you must lead them to the end of the level. Along the way you'll find obstacles and enemies which will try to snatch and take the cats away from you.

    Thanks again guys! :)

    Thank you!

It does take me a lot of time to draw everything. I use a lot of reference art as inspiration, from games such as Rayman Legends, Ori and the Blind Forest, etc. Those have been really important for my game development. In addition I do quick searchs in Pinterest and Deviant Art to find reference art before I draw something. And I also start over a lot... sometimes I want to hurry and "wrap it up", because I'm anxious to finish it, but I end up with bad results, and that waters down the rest, so often I fall back to my last time I was happy with my work, and start over from there, so far never regretted it.

I actually have another game in my head that's easier to do, and probably more fun, but it's very important for me (and my morale) to not quit this game. I realize from many perspectives this isn't the best way to tackle the first attempt at game development, but I can already see this game being finished relatively soon.

The morale and making a dream come true is very important for me as well. I have a RPG project in the making for a long time and wont give up until it is finished, whether this happens or not eventually :)

The process has been an amazing one, from learning C# on XNA to moving to Unity and making a lot of assets for the store and learning how to polish my work along the way for professional use, which in turn helps me a lot organize and make the best of my systems for my game too.

I have two smaller game ideas in the making too, one will probably give birth to a new asset store system too, a dynamic AI this time.

You animations are very cool as well, so by cool art i refer to the whole pack, it is just great and looks very professional.

I also just noticed you have the cool 3D trees asset as well, i use them everywhere in my game :)

And i cant wait for the modular house asset, which i plan to combine with InfiniTREE for all kinds of cool functionality and unique structures for the RPG and maybe the mini game too.

I like that you say "wont give up until it is finished". That's needless to say the right attitude, nothing less is acceptable! You shouldn't even consider stop working on your game. I've been working for a year on my game, only have two levels and a half, will certainly not make enough money to justify investing so much time, but it's only the beginning.

It's good to have other projects on the horizon! You feel motivated to work on your current project, so then you can work on your next projects.

Oh, regarding the houses, it has been 5 business day since I submitted, so it should be approved any time now!

your kicking butt dogzer! I second nasos comment about the art - it looks really nice, and has it's own style which is hard to accomplish.

Your art process sounds similar to mine. I seldom create anything that I don't have 2-3 resets on previous save files because I'm not happy with the results. Most of my personal assets have taken 1 1/4 to double the amount of time I've allotted for it, simply because I say - it can be better!

But I have gotten faster and I know you will also.

And I bet a cool 1mil would justify the time you have spent. :) Aim for the stars.
As long as we are still trying and progressing - we are not failing.

    k - self motivation speech over. :)

    Very well done!
I love the lighthearted nature about it.

It has a very familiar style to it, but I can't quite put my finger on where I've seen that before.
...This is gonna bug me now.

Is it that one double fine game? That's the one I thought of first when I saw the animations.

@Bridin: Thank you, sir! Still a lot of work left as you can see! :3

@theAnimator2n: Hehe, I agree. At some point we have to find the sweet spot, where we feel good about the result, but we have a reasonable progress rate.
Regarding the profit you can make with a game, that feels so much like black magic- Apparently the odds are affected by many unknown factors outside the game itself, how you time your marketing, who you aim with your marketing, how do you sell the game...etc. If you don't attend those factors, you bring your odds down to zero... and for the time being I'm unknown to marketing. So just I stay in the realistic side, not optimistic but I also don't cloud my mind with any negativity. I found this is the best way I can work with a peace of mind.

@mr gaming Watch: Hehe, it's hard to tell, I've used many many games as reference. :p

@romi Fauzi: Awesome!!, that's very generous! (Perhaps too generous) I really appreciate it :-]~

@Cheemaxmax: LOL! He rescues cats! At least he think he does o_O

Agreed, I think this could translate to console well if it has good playability with depth. Be a bit of a shame if it was only mobile...

    Thanks guys!!!!!!!

New trailer coming very soon guys btw.

@hippo Well, I wad thinking it might look nice on Apple tv with an actual controller. I'm a bit out of touch with what kind of games consoles offer but if it's opening to indies like this I could research more about it along the run.

Only releasing this for mobile would be a crime imo. The art style and animations are perfect, and I would love to play it.

This looks great man! Curious if you're animating inside of Unity, or using other software? Or maybe any Unity plugins for the animation? Great work.
