I do, but it's really a matter of your marketing goals. $25 is a good deal for that much royalty-free music. But if your goal is to expose lots of people to the high quality of your music to get them interested in more packs, rather than primarily making a profit off this pack, then you might consider lowering the barrier even further. Also, a few more sound effects might round it out better since it's very music heavy.
I don't understand the point of selling it either when you can just go to the author's soundcloud account and preview them from there before deciding to purchase. There's even a link to the very pack in question in it's description on the store page. https://soundcloud.com/michael-lamanna/sets
If you purchase the try pack you own the music included, and can use it in your media. For $20 its an amazing deal.
I guess the bigger question is if i give this pack away for free would it help customers decide what pack to purchase?
That's a good point. Intro Pack? Just brainstorming. That might also diminish its significance, though.
I should have asked this question before uploading the pack, now to change the name i have to delete and start the process again.
I liked how this pack was done that's why I used the "Game Audio Try Pack" https://www.samplelogic.com/products/trypack-sonic-catalog/
In that case, maybe keep "try pack" and consider dropping the price even more since the purpose is really just to get it into as many hands as possible. Maybe $10 is enough of a barrier that only real potential customers will buy it, but almost no one will hesitate because of price.
I agree it was an amazing deal and I fully expected the reason behind the price tag was that buying it off the Asset Store licensed it to the buyer. I just felt like it was going to defeat it's own purpose for existence by having a price tag (or at least one that isn't an impulse purchase price range like @TonyLi mentioned) for two main reasons. One, I felt like most people would see the Soundcloud link, understand they could preview it there, and just buy the pack appropriate to their needs. The result would be the trial pack on the Asset Store wouldn't have much popularity from a purchase standpoint and would be placed lower on the store than the actual packs that it was advertising. Two, because most people aren't purchasing it, you wouldn't be getting much in the way of reviews whereas the actual packs have tons of solid reviews. The result is if someone were searching for high review music the actual packs would again drown out the trial back. So that was essentially my reasoning. Nothing to do with the value of the music it had. I thought that was fine.
Thank you for taking the time to provide some great feedback, after some consideration I felt like making the pack Free I've been part of the unity community and asset store from the beginning and it was time to give a little something back!
