Feedback Feature comparison and roadmap of ARFoundation

    Hello ARFoundation team,

    The developer community really needs a centralized source of documentation regarding ARFoundation's roadmap, current state, known issues, and how it compares to the advancements of ARCore and ARKit.

    Would it be possible to extend this information to the main documentation source: https://docs.unity3d.com/Packages/com.unity.xr.arfoundation@3.0/manual/index.html ?

    To this date information has to be hunted down in several blog posts, forum threads, and API references. Currently ARCore, ARKit, ARFoundation plugins for Unity are all at different levels and so far it has been hard to keep up to date with the state of ARFoundation.

    In 2018, a Unity blog post "Unity’s Handheld AR Ecosystem: AR Foundation, ARCore and ARKit" shed a lot of light in this perspective with a detailed and informative comparison table, but no more followed after this and a lot has changed.

    In the perspective of the Unity blog post regarding "Creative professional are struggling to implement augmented reality", the issue also lies in the lack of centralized and accommodated information about the AR technologies SDKs.

    Totally agree. A very basic starting point would be a more useful Readme explaining the various scenes in arfoundation-samples. Seems like that should take 10 minutes to write.
