I attempted to create a project to get a look at the editor to follow along with the overview. Halfway through the creation, I was told of compilation errors and went with the recommended course of Safe Mode. But then finally it crashed, giving me the following message:

"Shader compiler initialization error: Failed to read D3DCompiler DLL file
Something is preventing access to D3DCompiler_47.dll.
Check your Editor installation integrity, file access rights and antivirus configuration."

I have been given to understand that my antivirus software 360 Security can cause this issue upon Unity installing. But I would still appreciate any solid advice on how to get around this. Thanks in advance.

can you add excluded folders to that antivirus? try adding unity installation folder or that project folder too.

Obviously the first step is to see if that's the problem. Turn off the A/V software and launch. If the problem doesn't go away, then move onto other things.
